Immaculate Conception: Community Building for Building Community

In the early part of 2012, Fr. Casey Mahone, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, had begun discussing with his pastoral council, parishioners, and Michael Bransfield, the Diocesan Bishop, about a need for a new Parish Center….

With a focus on functionality, Immaculate Conception Parish Community worked diligently with WYK Associates in creating a building that provides a welcoming atmosphere for parishioners and guests along with space for the parish staff…Swiger has been the President of WYK since 2012 and has worked on many community projects including Jackson’s Square Parking Facility.  He explained that he has done whatever he can to be involved with the City of Clarksburg and believes that the City is “on the upswing”.  Swiger stated, “Our City government seems to be the best it’s been, and I believe that the City is moving in a positive direction.”  Swiger is eager to see this project come to fruition and believes that it will add to the City’s efforts to improve Uptown Clarksburg.  Swiger finds this project to be of great importance and hopes to provide Fr. Casey and Immaculate Conception Parishioners with a finished product that they can be proud of.  Swiger stated, “It is important for us to make things as nice as we can, so that people can enjoy our work,” he continued, “It’s not about us it’s about the clients and their needs.”
