WYK Associates Inc. has welcomed Alex Banko as assistant project manager

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — WYK Associates Inc. has welcomed Alex Banko as assistant project manager.

Banko will be working on WYK projects as a member of the design team. This will include designing, drafting, assisting in the production of construction documents and specifications and assisting in construction administration.

Banko will also aid in the general administration of day-to-day affairs within the company, including running technological software and managing the 3D printer.

Banko was born and raised in Clarksburg. He attended Fairmont State University and played baseball for the school while earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture.

Banko began working at WYK part-time on Aug. 31, 2021, and moved to his current full-time position on April 1.

He is a dedicated and enthusiastic student of architecture who is heavily involved in the community. His dedication to the community will help WYK build on and begin new working relationships, whether it be for business or philanthropic endeavors.

Banko will be working on a range of projects while he builds his experience and credentials and, ultimately, pursues an architectural license.

His goal is to be a part of the creation of beautiful and life changing architecture for the Clarksburg community and surrounding areas of Appalachia, whether it be professionally or through volunteer action.

It is his interest in innovative and unconventional building technologies that draw from primitive building methods that allows him to produce attractive and functional structures that can be fabricated in a sustainable and economical way.

Banko is a proud member of both the Clarksburg Beautification Committee and Clarksburg Uptown Inc. His volunteer spirit and community-mindedness is a perfect fit with the firm’s philosophies which will allow WYK to expand upon its community outreach.
